The new generation of the Toyota Avanza, Toyota Veloz, and Daihatsu Xenia that were unveiled in Indonesia are essentially the same car in slightly different flavors. All three models are based on Daihatsu’s DNGA platform – a budget version of Toyota’s own TNGA architecture – which also underpins the Toyota Raize / Daihatsu Rocky B-SUV siblings. More specifically, the Toyota Avanza and the Daihatsu Xenia are almost identical with differences limited to the front bumper, grille, badges, and trim pieces between the taillights and on the decorative diffuser. The Toyota Veloz on the other hand differentiates itself more as a sportier and more premium model thanks to the redesigned bumpers and taillights. Pricing starts from 190,900,000 rupiah ($13,392) for the cheapest Daihatsu Xenia, from 206.200,000 rupiah ($14,468) for the Toyota Avanza, and from 251,200,000 rupiah ($17,622) for the Toyota Veloz.

As of 2020, the current generation Xenia is an extremely rare sight, even at the time of its introduction in 2021.

At the top of the heap is the 1.5 R CVT ASA, priced at IDR242.4 million (RM70,759), which only gets the SC cost option. Like the Avanza, the Xenia rides on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) and is now front-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive. Meanwhile, “1.5” variants get a 2NR-VE 1.5 litre engine making 106 PS at 6,000 rpm and 137 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Specific to the range-topper (1.5 R CVT ASA) is a suite of safety and driver assist systems that are part of the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) suite.
