GridOto - Modifikasi bisa menjadi salah satu tempat mencurahkan ide dan tidak terbatas waktu. Seperti salah satu contoh menimpa roadster legendaris Mazda RX-7 ini sob. Hasilnya, semua sektor sudah diubah hingga bentuknya tak lagi terlihat seperti Mazda RX-7.
Sejak 2001 silam franchise film bergenre action tersebut banyak mempengaruhi gaya modifikasi di Tanah Air. Salah satunya mungkin datang dari Mazda RX-7 VeilSide milik Han Lue (diperankan Sun Kang) yang tampil di sekuel kedua The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. Di mana setelah terpasang membuat penambahan lebar bodi 5cm di depan dan 8cm di belakang. Selain body dan mesin, untuk kaki-kaki menggunakan velg palang lima Rennen forged berukuran 19×10 untuk bagian depan dan 20×13 untuk bagian belakang. Dipadu dengan ban Continental Sport 245/35 di bagian depan dan 325/25 bagian belakang.

GridOto - Tidak ada yang menyangkal pesona Mazda RX-7 untuk jadi bahan modifikasi yang lebih menarik. Bahkan bagi pengagum fanatis Mazda RX-7 yang berasal dari Puerto Rico bernama Tito Perez, modifikasi total adalah cara untuk bikin mobilnya tampil beda. Mazda RX-7 ini sudah diubah bergaya street racing berkat pasokan body kit RE Amemiya, Jepang. Mulai dari depan tampak bumper baru yang terlihat tegas dan didesain tengahnya untuk mengekspos intercooler. Kap mesin ini juga diganti menggunakan bahan serat karbon dengan dengan aksen air scoop untuk sirkulasi ekstra ke ruang mesin.
Modifikasi Mazda RX-7 yang satu ini cukup ekstrim, karena mobil tersebut sudah menggunakan mesin empat rotor yang ditambahkan turbo besar. Bagi Mad Mike, Rob Dahm, dan David Mazzei sebagai penggemar mesin rotary sejati, mereka bermain-main dengan proyek modifikasi Mazda RX-7 lansiran 1993. Tentunya hasil modifikasi Mazda RX-7 bermesin empat rotor itupun herus diuji coba di trek balap.
Salah satu yang nampak terlihat segar adalah mobil milik M. N. Hafiz (35), pria asli Johor Bahru ini memboyong RX-7 miliknya dengan body lebih modis. Mobil yang memiliki kode FD3S untuk pasar Jepang dan JM1FD untuk pasar Amerika Utara. "Saya suka dengan mobil ini karena punya sistem mesin yang unik yaitu rotary. "Mazda RX-7 ini tahun 1999. "Kadang-kadang selalu kita keluarkan untuk hari Minggu, habis minyak banyak, bolehlah diadu untuk drag race, tapi untuk endurance mobil saya tak sedap," ujarnya.
