Honda City 1.5 iVTEC-2015 GM6 - jerking issueI wanted to find out whether any Honda city ivtec owner encounters this issue before I send it to honda services centre for checking. My car Honda City iVtec 1.5cc petrol with CVT transmission, build 2015 (GM6)current mileage 139k, CVT oil change at 126k, new engine air filter, new spark plug (138k)The jerking problem will not happen cold start after stop for a night. The jerking only happens when i hold acceleration at about 1300-1500 RPM, it will not jerking when i accelerating surge up to 2000 RPM and above. When symptom show, "pause" the RPM drop, "surge" the RPM rise. updated:after sent honda checking gerabox pressure test, one of the gear pressure not up to the designated pressure, they is no fix, the only fix is to change the gearbox cost RM20k, WTF.
Honda City: Jerks When Accelerating CausesYour City’s engine is a pump. Spark Plugs – Even under the best conditions, spark plugs will eventually need to be replaced. When one has gone bad, they’ll usually cause your City to jerk when accelerating, idle rough, and hurt fuel mileage. Outside of bad fuel injectors, a bad fuel pump or fuel filter can also cause a jerk while accelerating. Conclusion: Honda City Jerking While AcceleratingGood luck figuring out what is causing your Honda City to jerk while accelerating.
Try change the CVT gearbox oil first. Cause that one usually affects the clutch operation if never change for a very, long, long, long , forgotten time. Anyway someone else has already discuss about jerking problem in their City. Its not the gearbox.Try change the CVT gearbox oil first.
Driving your Honda City with engine hesitation or slow acceleration is not only infuriating, it can also be dangerous when overtaking or when crossing an intersection. Honda City – (emirhankaramuk / Shutterstock)The most common causes for slow acceleration in Honda City are clogged air filter, dirty mass air flow sensor (MAF), clogged fuel filter, fuel pump malfunction, faulty oxygen sensor, dirty throttle body, worn spark plugs and clogged catalytic converter. Not very proficient in diagnosing this issue, but to me it seems likely a gearbox issue. Driving it around with a messy gearbox(if that indeed is the problem) might not be a safe option. Unless the problem is accurately diagnosed, it is very difficult to estimate the cost for the repair. Otherwise, the cost may vary from just labour charges in case of minor problems or the cost of spares in case something needs to be replaced.
A.o.A my Honda City Idsi is jerking (loss of power) (pechay ke taraf daka) in cng mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear. The car starts jerking only between 1500 to 2000 rpm while pressing accelerator after changing gear and releasing clutch. My mechanic repaired all my ignition coils that were leaking current and the cng jerking problem got resolved for few days. But after 10 days the car again started jerks in cng. I have changed 4 of the rear ignition coils a week ago as i hoped that it might be ignition coil problem but the problem persists.
