The poor Honda Civic Hybrid has always had to live in the shadows. But under its skin the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid is slightly more powerful, much easier to live with, and more fuel-efficient than the previous generation. It's even harder to tell a 2012 Civic Hybrid from a standard 2012 Civic at a glance. So the Civic Hybrid cannot cruise under only electric power as cars with Ford's and Toyota's hybrid systems do. Interestingly, in terms of EPA reported fuel economy, the 2012 Civic Hybrid is Honda's most fuel-efficient vehicle, besting even Honda's dedicated hybrid model, the Insight.

Why use an encoder for the IMA motor? The IMA rotor is bolted directly to the crankshaft, so you might think that the crankshaft position sensor could be used to determine the rotor position. The IMA encoder has 3 “switches” and six possible combinations of ON and OFF: 001, 010, 100, 111, 011, 110. Before they brought the car in, they had installed an entire IMA motor (with encoder) figuring it was the most likely cause. Good encoder signalsThe waveform for the encoder looks pretty much exactly like the example in the service manual.
NOTENOTE... and you're going to try rebuilding your transmission?Did you check the fluid level while the car was warm, or cold? Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) from the transmission, and wipe it with a clean cloth.. Insert the dipstick into the transmission.. If necessary, remove the dipstick and fill the transmission into the dipstick hole to bring the fluid level up to the upper mark. Always use Honda ATF-Z1 automatic transmission fluid (ATF). If the level is above the upper mark, drain the ATF to proper level.. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission.

So you’re driving, and your “Low Tire Pressure” warning light goes off. You fill up the tire(s) with low pressure and get back on the road, but the warning light still won’t turn off. This is a common issue for Honda owners, so here’s a quick guide on how to reset the TPMS light in your Honda. Any time you reinflate your tires, change a tire, or get them rotated, the TPMS needs to be recalibrated before it’ll work properly again. Then it will stop automatically, and your tire pressure monitoring system is good to go.

Takata's chapter 11 bankruptcy plan has been approved by a Delaware judge. While that means some reorganization, pay-offs for creditors, yadda yadda etc ... the dollar figure I was interested in involves how much is being set aside for injury victims. The action makes official the agreement that requires the airbag manufacturer to pay $850 million to help automakers cover some of the cost for airbag recalls. The plan also includes a "channeling injunction" for future victims. article "Takata's Bankruptcy Has Been Improved.
