Didn't have any problems with the car until today. No idea if it's the alarm/immobilizer, battery, or something else. I'm hoping to avoid towing it to the Mazda dealership, although at this rate, it looks like I might have to. -Walked up to the car and noticed it took several clicks to unlock the car with the keyless entry-Car wouldn't start; it cranked, but wouldn't catch. I'm really hoping this is an easy fix.
RE: Mazda 3 Alarm ProblemMazda3's don't have a factory alarm system, or even an (factory) accessory add-on alarm.They have a disabling system. i.e.Should the wrong key be used to try and start the car, the ignition is cut off for 5mins, iirc.There is no other alarm available fromMazda, not even as an accessory. Sounds like the dealer (or previous owner) took it upon themselves to install one. As far a voiding your warranty is concerned, my manual ('04) states that Mazda does not recommend the use of aftermarket alarms, therefore having one might void part of your warranty... but only if it is involved, or the cause ofproblem you are having and take it in for warranty service.
Trying to fix my brothers 2010 mazda 3 2.0, the brakes are weak when going slow(10-25kph)... but when going fast(35-100kph) they seem to work like normal brakes and stop goodHe told me he has all the brakes and rotors changed, he had the master cylinder replaced, and just a couple days ago had the system bled. nothing has helped him so farI just checked the car out today, all calipers, brake pads and rotors look good and seem to function correctly, no contamination and I cleaned them with brake clean to be sure. The only thing I can think of is the brake booster, I think maybe there is a leak and it tends to work better when the engine rpm is higher making enough vacuum for it to work properly? The booster is tightly packed behind the battery and I couldn't find any vacuum hoses going to it.. does the brake booster use intake manifold vacuum? where are common places for the brake booster to fail?

2005 Mazda 3:I was going to replace the fan motor and resister. I remembered a test that was mentioned on a U tube video to swap the fan motor relay with the engine relay and see if the car starts. The alarm went nuts... Will not stop. Locked the car and went to bed. Woke up went out unlocked the car and I know I had some pissed off neighbors alrarm started again.
