The 1-2 grind is the most common symptom and in most cases the dealer will warranty the new transmission without question. That being said the ND transmission is not the same as the Mazda 3 transmission so its comparing apples and oranges. Can't say if I have ever had a problem that wasn't caused by me just missing the gear or not depressing the clutch far enough. Practice, practice, practice. As to the original problem, has the transmission been serviced at all, new fluid and filter?

It's humid enough here in the summer that a commuter car without working A/C is a no go for me. I can put up with it not being quite as cool as I'd like it for the month of swing season. Mine's never been uncomfortable, just more like it seems it should be colder from how the controls are set. When it was say 23C/73F in the car with the controls set all the way to cold on a 20C/68F day, it had me fearing what a 35C/95F day would feel like. And I was able to make the car a meat locker when it was that hot!
When the fault occurred, the RPM needle would drop to 0 and then the dash would light up. As the warning lights were present already, I did a quick DTC scan which revealed a massive amount of DTCs. With this many fault codes present, it was very difficult to get any sort of direction. All of these are communication fault codes that report the loss of an ECU on the network. When the fault occurred, all the warning lights lit up on the dashboard and an excessive amount of communication fault codes were present.
Received an iPhone 6 128 GB on launch day and have paired it to my 2014 Mazda 3. These problems were not experienced on an iPhone 5S with iOS 8. In attempting to solve the problem I have:Deleted the bluetooth pairing on the phone and vehicle. Conducted a full reset of the Mazda infotainment system, which is running V31 (latest) firmware. I have not been able to test the phone in another car / bluetooth set up to see if the problem is with the phone, or the car.
