I have a 1996 5.0 4wd with the original Mazda-R2 5 speed manual OD transmission. The original owners manual calls for 3.8 quarts of Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid, Ford part number XT-2-QDX. Automatic transmission fluid in a manual transmission? Another concern; I can only find MERCON LV auto trans fluid, Ford part number XT-10-QLVC. MERCON LV is not compatible with MERCON V. Still curious about ATF in a manual trans.
