OverviewThe current generation Mitsubishi Outlander made its Malaysian debut back in 2016 in one form - 2.4-litre, CBU from Japan. Local assembly of the Mitsubishi Outlander started in 2017 with the 2.0-litre model, followed by the 2.4-litre model a few months later. The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 is priced from RM 137,888, while the Outlander 2.4 is priced from RM 152,888. Considering its 7-seater nature, the Outlander most direct rival is the Nissan X-Trail.
Outlander ExteriorCompared to the old-school butch looks of Mitsubishi SUVs, the Outlander happens to be a distinguishing output with its urban design. At the front, the Mitsubishi Outlander has a sleek two slat chrome grille which seamlessly blends with the angular headlamps, which comprise of projector units as well as daytime running LEDs. The headlamps on both the sides come with a zig-zag chrome garnish which extends all the way down to the fog lamps. From the sides, the Outlander is not as outlandish as it at the front and carries a simple and understated elegance. The roof mounted spoiler as well as shark fin antenna make the rear of the Outlander appeal sporty.

4WD System and PerformanceThe new Outlander 2.4L is powered by a proven 2.4L engine with 167 PS of power and 222 Nm of torque. The DOHC MIVEC engine is paired with INVECS-III CVT transmission with paddle shifters for even better control. With many years of winning experience in the gruelling Dakar Rally under its belt, Mitsubishi is a specialist in rugged 4WD vehicles. The Outlander comes with an intelligent 4WD system as standard across the range. Unlike on-demand 4WD systems in rival SUVs, the Multi-Select 4WD system in the Outlander has three selectable modes – 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock – to suit all conditions and terrain.

SUV tujuh penumpang ini dibanderol dengan harga sekira Rm 166.720 atau sekira Rp 562,97 juta off the road. Di Malaysia, Outlander ini dilengkapi dengan fitur seperti LED headlamp dengan daytime running lights, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sunroof dan tailgate LED. Di bagian dalam, Outlander baru ini sudah tak dilengkapi dengan kunci konvensional, melainkan dengan tombol. Outlander ini hanya tersedia dalam satu varian mesin, MIVEC 2,4 liter empat silinder yang hasilkan tenaga 165 Tk dan torsi 222 Nm.
