Despite having altered the original car's looks, Mitsubishi have released the Grandis as a practical replacement for the obsolete Space Wagon/Chariot/Nimbus line. Fitted with a choice of 4-cylinder 2.4 L gasoline unit and a Volkswagen-sourced 2.0 L turbodiesel, the car was first sold in Parts of Asia, Europe and South America, having only recently reached US grounds. Sadly, the sporty 7-seater was released with a conventional door-layout unlike the concept that was presented with closet-like opening "suicide doors".
With a fuel consumption of 9.4 litres/100km - 30 mpg UK - 25 mpg US (Average), 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 10.0 seconds, a maximum top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h), a curb weight of 3571 lbs (1620 kgs), the Grandis 2.4 MIVEC has a naturally-aspirated Inline 4 cylinder engine, Petrol motor. This engine produces a maximum power of 165 PS (163 bhp - 121 kW) at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 217 Nm (160 lb.ft) at 4000 rpm. The power is transmitted to the road by the front wheel drive (FWD) with a 5 speed Manual gearbox. For stopping power, the Grandis 2.4 MIVEC braking system includes Vented Discs at the front and Discs at the rear. The Grandis model is a car manufactured by Mitsubishi, sold new from year 2004 .
