In 2003 Mitsubishi unveiled to the United States its Lancer Evolution, or Evo VII (for Eighth Generation) to do battle with the very successful Subaru WRX. Many of the participants in those races followed the same sort of ideology when it came to what kind of car they used. Avid Mitsubishi historians will recognize that engine code as the same one that was used in the cult-classic Eclipse. According to Classic the average sales price for a 2003-2005 Lancer Evolution VIII is $26,282, with a low sale of $11,721 and a high sale of $62,349. All in all, the Lancer Evolution VIII is a well-built specialty car that was a bargain when produced (with a base price under thirty grand), and has withstood the test of time.
