Developed by Toyota Indonesia’s TRD division, it wears the Japanese brand’s signature motorsport livery, red and white, that can also be seen in their WEC and WRC operations more famously. To have distinction over the standard model, Toyota has fitted bigger off-road tyres that ensure go-anywhere capabilities for the already terrain-friendly Fortuner. Toyota offers both 2WD and 4WD options on the Fortuner. The Fortuner is retailed in seven paint schemes White Pearl, Silver, Gray, Attitude Black, Nebula Blue, Phantom Brown and Avant-grade Bronze. The rally raid Fortuner gets extensive bodywork modifications to meet the demands of cross country rallying. Toyota Team Indonesia (TTI) took out the front bumper, widened the fenders, gave it beefier quarter panels and raised the ride height. TRD Indonesia ripped out all the creature comforts and turned it into a rally raid racer. This special Fortuner comes with special hand controls for Aoki to pilot the rally raid SUV comfortably. By the end of last year's rally, Aoki had finished sixth overall, a respectable result for a first time rally racer.

The model being displayed is TRD Indonesia, and TTI (Toyota Team Indonesia)’s Toyota Fortuner that was modified for the Federal Vessel Asia Cross Country Rally 2017 (FVACCR). Inside, the rally-spec Toyota Fortuner has a roll cage, TRD racing steering wheel, Sparco racing seats and a modified centre console with what looks like analogue gauge clusters, and other bits you’d typically see in any rally vehicle.
