I got this car used (98,000 miles) in 2018 when I was desperate and this was the only vehicle I could afford. No, it doesn't handle like a sports car so whipping in and out of traffic is not the main deal here. This little car has driven all over the Midwestern US and down to South Carolina with no problems ever. And although the Yaris is not known for speed or instant response, I can get out of tricky situations when I need to. I love this little car and I plan to drive it until Jesus comes back.
We previously owned a Cadillac, so there was quite a difference in size and fuel consumption. We use it as a motorized shopping cart, and for what we need, it performs well. Only observation against it is the instrument panel. Very hard to see, without the lights on. Overall a great little car.
The Yaris was last redesigned for 2012, and it offers the unusual option of a three-door model as well as the more customary five-door hatchback. The Yaris sedan that was part of the lineup in previous years, however, has been withdrawn from the U.S. market. Review continues belowFrom the outside, the Yaris appears brawny without being a caricature (as some Scion models seem to be). The SE model adds alloy wheels and stiffer suspension, but several options on other subcompacts aren't available at any price. The Yaris doesn't offer a navigation system, leather upholstery, or heated seats, for example.
