A couple of months ago as I was assembling my drive schedule with the press fleet managers, I found the Toyota Yaris liftback on my list and was less than enthused. After having been pretty unimpressed by the Prius C and Corolla, I wasn’t expecting much, but I turned out to be pleasantly surprised. The Yaris iA (which loses the iA suffix for its 2019 refresh) is a subcompact sedan that is essentially a renosed and rebadged version of the Mazda 2. Even at that relatively modest starting price, Toyota remains committed to its roll-out of standard driver assist technologies with the TSS-C package. This is in distinct contrast to the Prius C I drove a few months ago.
